Our visit to Crete was to the beautiful fishing port of Aghios Nikolaos. Not a lot of information was forthcoming
about this port as most of the crew had never been there previously. Everyone we spoke to enjoyed this port of
call.
The people were friendly and only too happy to help where
required. We did a short tourist trip
around the port just to get our bearings and then headed off on our own.
The main streets are narrow tree lined pedestrian friendly areas
with small shops along both sides. We
found ourselves in a couple of cafés both with magnificent views, where we sampled
a local beer and Greek cuisine. Yes,
shock and horror, David tried Greek food!!!
