Sailaway

Our flight to Sydney was uneventful and we arrived safely to our hotel on Friday afternoon.  Friday evening we met up with a group of travellers who had been corresponding for months about this trip, some of which we knew from previous trips we had done.  A good night was had by all there, renewing and making new acquaintances.

Saturday the 13th July, following our safety drill, we set sail at 4pm from White Bay Cruise terminal in Sydney Harbour.   We were told that the ship had a slight clearance to pass under the Harbour Bridge, but from where we were standing it must have only been a matter of inches.  We were waved off by a group of bridge climbers (top left corner of the close up) who were dwarfed by the size of the bridge.   I know this will be of particular interest to some friends who will be doing this soon ~ Good Luck.

Immediately after the bridge we passed the Opera House, one of the worlds iconic buildings before leaving the harbour and on our way at last.

Next stop Brisbane!
